History of ITC

Since its inception, the International TFT Conference (ITC) has stood as a peripatetic hub for the global TFT community, rotating across key innovation hubs in Korea, Japan, China, Europe, and the United States. This geographic diversity has been instrumental in fostering cross-border collaboration and accelerating knowledge exchange, cementing ITC’s status as the premier forum for advancing thin-film transistor technologies.

The journey began in 2005 in Seoul, Korea, laying the foundation for a legacy of excellence. Over the years, the conference has left its mark on iconic cities worldwide: Kitakyushu, Japan (2006); Rome, Italy (2007); Seoul, Korea (2008); Paris, France (2009); Hyogo, Japan (2010); Cambridge, UK (2011); Lisbon, Portugal (2012); Tokyo, Japan (2013); Delft, Netherlands (2014); Rennes, France (2015); Hsinchu, Taiwan, China (2016); Austin, USA (2017); Guangzhou, China (2018); Okinawa, Japan (2019); Shanghai, China (2020/21); Guildford, UK (2022); Daejeon, Korea (2024); and Nara, Japan (2025).

In 2026, this storied tradition continues as ITC makes its way to the stunning coastal city of Xiamen, China. Blending modern innovation with rich cultural heritage, Xiamen provides an inspiring backdrop for the 20th edition of ITC, which centers on the theme: "Shaping Better Tomorrows with Ubiquitous TFTs."
